From 1977 to 1983, scores of talented young girls sang and danced their way to fame in the Broadway production of Annie; years later, filmmakers Julie Stevens (an Annie orphan herself) and Gil Cates, Jr., reunite many of the show's cast members—including such familiar names as Sarah Jessica Parker, Dara Brown, and soap star Martha Byrne—for a candid exploration of the pluses and perils of childhood stardom.
